Leap Day…I wanted to do something different that my kids would remember doing and hopefully make it a tradition every leap year. Many things went through my mind but I came up with a fun idea for all of us…leaping past dinner and having dessert instead. When my husband asked the kids, “If you could have anything for dinner, what would it be?” They shouted in unison, “Ice cream!” The best place I could think of was Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour. As best as I can remember, these restaurants were everywhere when I was little and it was THE place to celebrate. They eventually all closed by the mid-80’s and are starting to make a comeback. Farrell’s was perfect for our leap day fun!
