Miller’s Twist
Philadelphia, PA – I heard about, read about and saw on TV that a must stop in Philly is the Reading Terminal Market. On our first morning in town, we walked around the corner to the Market. Little did I know that this is a foodie’s heaven! We arrived quite early and most places were still setting up. I was hoping to find some pastries at one of the shops. We walked around and came upon Miller’s Twist. It is a Pennsylvania Dutch place serving hand rolled soft pretzels. Unusual for breakfast you say? It turned out to be my favorite breakfast our entire trip. The pretzel dough was rolled around eggs, bacon and cheese. I sighed with utter delight at each bite. The sweetness of the soft, hot pretzel dough, the saltiness of the bacon and on the outside of the dough, the gooey cheese, oh yah!
On day three, we saw some sights in the morning and headed back to the Reading Terminal Market for lunch. Oh boy was it crowded…wall to wall people. After walking around a bit, we happened upon Miller’s Twist. I noticed they had lunch items. Since breakfast the day before was amazing, I had to give it a go. I had their ham, turkey and cheese pretzel roll and Dylan and their cheesesteak pretzel roll. Once again, Miller’s Twist did not disappoint.
