The Original Chex Party Mix
I wanted to start with a classic. Who doesn’t love a good salty snack every once in a while? Party Mix used to be one of those “treats” that was made only during the holidays. I remember my mom making this when I was young. The whole house would fill up with a toasty smell, Mmm. We would snack on it in the evenings or it would be served as an hors d’oeuvres before a holiday meal. The cousins would rush to grab the pretzels first. Well, some things never change. I too started making Chex Mix during the holidays but as my boys grew it became a requested item, especially after school. And yes, my boys argue over who got more pretzels! I realize they sell bags of this in all flavors at the stores, but let me tell you nothing is better than homemade. Can you believe the website has more than 70 different flavors of recipes?
